Shirts 4 Shelter

T.M. LEWIN HAVE PARTNERED WITH SHELTER TO HELP RAISE VITAL FUNDS FOR PEOPLE IN HOUSING NEED

The National Shirt Exchange Week launches on Monday 26 September. Every shirt donated will be given directly to Shelter to sell in their shops. You can go one step further in supporting Shelter by then purchasing a new shirt from your nearest T.M. Lewin store and £2 will be donated to Shelter. The money raised will be used to help people in desperate housing need so that they can find and keep a home. Please support the campaign.

T.M.Lewin is proud to launch National Shirt Week in partnership with Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity. With a large proportion of people owning a surplus of shirts that hang unwanted and unloved at the back of the wardrobe, T.M.Lewin is encouraging you to give your unwanted shirts a new home whilst also raising money for Shelter.

Customers who are unable to visit a T.M.Lewin store can still take part and donate, as T.M.Lewin will be running the shirt exchange initiative online at www.tmlewin.co.uk. Online shoppers will be sent a donation bag enabling them to take their unwanted shirts into their local Shelter store.

To celebrate National Shirt Exchange Week, T.M.Lewin will be building the biggest ever house made of shirts in Paternoster Square, London on Monday 26th and in Spinningfields, Manchester on Wednesday 28th September.

The houses will be at both locations from 8am to 6.30pm and there may even be a few celebrities donating their unwanted shirts throughout the day too, all to help raise money for Shelter.

If you are using social media tools to report on the day remember the hashtag is:

The Housing Question – Travelling North & Shirts4Shelter

A post by Steve Lawson on moving out of London and unaffordable housing. This is the week we say goodbye to London. Well, at least, the week we cease to call it home. We’re off to Birmingham, since the cost of being in London in no way reflects the benefits of still being here.

Sometimes we all need a prod in the right direction

With so many causes needing our support, it’s easy for some of the simplest ways to help charities to fall off our radar. There’s certainly no harm in expanding the story, making the action of helping feel like we’re part of some bigger action. This is why shirt manufacturer TM Lewin have teamed up with […]

About Shelter

by , 23/08/11 11:21am

Shelter is a charity that works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing. We do this by giving advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need, and by campaigning for lasting political change to end the housing crisis for good. read more

A host of British actors and comedians have teamed up with Shelter to help spread the word about our campaign. Sean Lock, Mike Fielding, Oliver Chris and Sally Bretton star in a short film about the danger posed by rogue landlords. Despite the amusing script and characters, the horrifying conditions shown in the film are the sad reality for thousands of people in this country. read more
